Senior Scientist Modelling & Simulation

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute modelling and simulation analyses to support drug development activities, including:
    • Population Pharmacokinetic (PopPK) models
    • Pharmacodynamic (PD) models
    • Exposure-response analyses
    • Disease progression models
    • Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) simulations
  • Perform quality control and validation of modelling and simulation analyses.
  • Contribute to scientific reports, regulatory documentation, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide scientific expertise and strategic support.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, pharmacometric, and cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members on modelling projects and best practices.
  • Support project planning, timeline monitoring, and budget tracking activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in:
    • Biomedical Sciences
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering
    • Physics
    • Pharmacometrics
    • Bioinformatics
    • Or another quantitative scientific discipline
  • Additional postdoctoral experience is considered a plus.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Pharmacometrics and/or Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) within industry or consulting environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with pharmacometric projects across different development phases and analysis types.
  • Experience preparing technical reports and ideally contributing to MA/BLA submissions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with pharmacometric experts, clinical teams, and leadership stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • PopPK
    • NCA
    • Exposure-response efficacy and safety analyses
    • PK/PD modelling
  • Advanced experience with:
    • NONMEM
    • MONOLIX
    • R programming
    • Git/version control systems
  • Good understanding of the drug discovery and development process from preclinical phases to regulatory submission.
  • Ability to estimate timelines, manage priorities, and proactively communicate project risks or delays.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Initial experience leading projects and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Project management exposure, including scope and budget monitoring.
  • Knowledge of IQRtools is considered an advantage.
  • German language skills are a plus.
